1. Introduction

Welcome to South Coast PAT. By using our website and services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Services Provided

  • South Coast PAT provides Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) services in accordance with current UK regulations and standards.

  • Our service includes inspection, testing, and certification of electrical appliances to ensure they are safe for use.

  • We reserve the right to refuse service if equipment is unsafe to test, access is restricted, or health & safety is compromised.

3. Client Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe access to all appliances requiring testing.

  • Provide accurate information about appliances, premises, and relevant health & safety concerns.

  • Maintain adequate insurance for appliances and premises.

  • Remove or isolate any equipment deemed unsafe before testing.

4. Certificates & Reports

  • A PAT certificate and/or detailed testing report will be issued once testing is complete and payment is received (unless agreed otherwise).

  • Certificates confirm the appliances tested met the required safety standards at the time of testing only.

  • Certificates are not a guarantee of ongoing safety. Clients remain responsible for regular inspection and safe usage of appliances.

5. Pricing & Payment

  • Prices are as quoted at the time of booking or as set out in your service agreement.

  • All fees are payable upon completion of work, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Late payments may incur interest charges at 8% above the Bank of England base rate, as permitted by the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

  • Certificates will only be released once full payment is received.

6. Liability

  • South Coast PAT will carry out testing in line with industry standards and with reasonable care and skill.

  • We accept no liability for:Any loss or damage arising from misuse of appliances after testing.Business interruption, consequential loss, or indirect damages.Equipment that fails after testing due to pre-existing faults or wear and tear.

  • Clients remain responsible for ongoing safe operation and maintenance of all appliances.

7. Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.

  • We reserve the right to reschedule work in the event of unforeseen circumstances, including staff illness, extreme weather, or health & safety concerns.

8. Website Use

  • All content on this website, including text, logos, and graphics, is owned by South Coast PAT unless otherwise stated.

  • You may not copy, distribute, or reproduce website content without written permission.

  • We do not guarantee that the website will always be available or error-free.

9. Privacy & Data Protection

  • South Coast PAT complies with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

  • Client details will only be used to deliver services, maintain records, and issue certificates.

  • We will not share client information with third parties unless legally required.

10. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
